Maya graduated from the University of California, San Diego with a degree in Cognitive Science, specializing in Human-Centered Design. Throughout her academic journey she immersed herself in what her university had to offer — this included creating her own startup with a team of 5 likeminded peers rooted in a struggle she had faced since middle-school — social anxiety. Learn more about this innovative approach she conceptualized here.
Maya specializes in product design, systems thinking, and user research, with a strong foundation in analytical decision-making and team leadership. She's led cross-functional projects across disciplines — bringing together engineers, designers, and researchers to build real, functional solutions to real-world problems. Most recently, she's served as Head of Product on a wearable tech project for anxiety relief, guiding both design strategy and user-centered development.
Beyond the big-picture strategy, Maya thrives in the details — often the one up at 2AM, deep in flow, working through a tough design roadblock or refining micro-interactions until they feel just right. She enjoys the gritty, iterative process of solving problems — especially when those solutions make people’s lives more livable.
Maya is currently seeking roles in startups, big tech, or anywhere thoughtful design is valued. She is especially drawn to early-stage product work and mission-driven teams who care deeply about both impact and execution.
Outside of design, you’ll usually find her soaking up the sun, petsitting for cats, exploring cities, antiquing, or discovering hidden eateries with close friends.
